Afghan authorities express gratitude to Russia for grain

Afghanistan’s Commerce and industry Minister Muhammed Amin Farhang has expressed gratitude to the Russian Federation for its readiness to supply 15 thousand tons of grain to the country as humanitarian aid. He made this statement at the Afghan government meeting chaired by President Hamid Karzai in Kabul on the 23rd of June.
On the 20th of June, Afghan Foreign Ministry said that Russia would supply 15 thousand tons of grain to Afghanistan shortly. A Foreign Ministry spokesman Sultan Ahmad Bahin said the grain would be supplied to stabilize the food prices.
The cabinet meeting decided to store the consignment temporarily in the government warehouses in the northern city of Mazar-i-Sharif.
