Russian-Afghan trade volume in the first quarter of the year was $39.4 million. Speaking to Afghanistan.Ru information portal a government adviser of the Russian Federation Valeri Ivanov stated this citing a report by Afghanistan’s Trade and Industry Ministry and Russia’s customs service. According to Ivanov, Russian exports to Afghanistan reached $37.2 million.
Meanwhile, Russia’s former trade and economic councilor to Afghanistan believes that the ending of technical inter-bank operations linked with the writing off of Afghanistan’s debt to the former Soviet Union could seriously stimulate trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
