MOSCOW, October 27th. Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations expressed readiness to help Afghanistan and Pakistan after recent earthquake, said minister Vladimir Puchkov.
It is to be recalled that a powerful earthquake resulted in massive casualities in Afghanistan. More than 63 Afghanistan residents were killed and more than 200 wounded by the fatal disaster. So Vladimir Puchkov sent letters to his Afghan and Pakistan colleagues Vais Ahmad Barmak and Asgar Nawas. He expressed his deep condolences and offered help to these countries.
'We share your loss and mourn together with the families of the killed and injured. I would like to assure you that the Russian Emergencies Ministry is at your disposal and ready to provide any necessary help and support', as his words were quoted by ministry internet site.
The 8-magnitude earthquake happened October, 26th at 12:19 PM. Its epicenter laid 196 km under the ground in the Hindukush mountains 82 km to the southeast of Afghanistan's Faizabad (northern province of Badahshan) and 67 km from Pakistan's Chitral (province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa).
