MOSCOW, 11th October. Russian president Vladimir Putin met his Tajikistan colleague Emomali Rahmon in Sochi. Afghanistan security was the main topic of their discussion.
Emomali Rahmon was expressing dismay at Afghanistan destabilization and Afghanistan-Tajikistan border security, which is the Collective Security Treaty Organization area of responsibility. More than 60% of the border is the battle zone nowadays, he claimed.
In his turn, Vladimir Putin agreed that Russian government is passed over Afghanistan security, so a careful consideration should be given to this problem, as his words were quoted by Russian presidents official website.
