Famous photo “Afghan girl” by Steve McCurry will be displayed at the Hermitage

30th September. Photo exhibition of famous American photograph Steve McCurry will be opened at the Hermitage.
As the Hermitage media office said, more than 80 photos of Steve McCurry will be displayed at the exhibition ï¿½Moment of vulnerabilityï¿½, including his most famous photo ï¿½Afghan Girlï¿½.
The main themes of Steve McCurryï¿½s works are war conflicts, vanishing nations, ancient traditions and contemporary world. The artist is fond of East countries, Iran, India, Afghanistan and many others. Almost everyone could find in his works something close to his inner world.
The photo ï¿½Afghan girlï¿½ was made in the year 1985. Chosen as the ï¿½National Geographicï¿½ cover image in June, 1985, it became widely known all over the world. As Steve McCurry himself has said in the year 2002, after that there was no day he didnï¿½t receive an e-mail, sms or phone call concerning ï¿½Afghan girlï¿½.
