Hamid Karzai reflects on his presidency

September 10th, Moscow. Last week ex-president of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai has given an interview about his presidency and countryï¿½s future.
Hamid Karzai made a point of regional cooperation, including China, India and Russia. Mentioning forthcoming opening of Russian culture center in Kabul, he stressed that cooperation with Russia is rather important for Afghanistan.
Afghan ex-president also added that his refusal to sign military cooperation agreement with USA was the most difficult decision of his presidency. In the mean time he emphasized that agreement ratification by Ashraf Ghani didnï¿½t bring Afghanistan peace and stability.
Hamid Karzai is also seriously concerned about Islamic State extremists appearance in Afghanistan. He believes that IS activities in Iraq and Syria are driven by foreign countries, as his interview was quoted by ï¿½TOLOnewsï¿½ agency.
Considering Afghanistan future ex-president argued that the country was not ready to free market economy in the beginning of 2000s and proposed to increase state control on economy. At the end of his interview Hamid Karzai asked Afghan politicians to hold-back National Unity Government.
