Russia will help Afghanistan to maintain Mi-8 helicopters

MOSCOW, 8th September. Last year Russia has sent to Afghanistan 30 helicopters. As JSC 'Russian Helicopters' stated recently, the company is ready to help Afghanistan with Mi-8 maintenance.
Such statement was made by media office of Russian Federal Service on Military-Technical Cooperation. Procurement of Russian helicopters greatly helps to strengthen and shape Afghan army is the part of Russian and USA efforts to fight international, as the statement was quoted by RIA news agency.
As the vice director of Russian holding 'Russian Helicopters' Grigoriy Kozlov said, there are more than 150 Russian helicopters adopted by Afghan army. His company is ready to cooperate in the field of its maintenance, he added.
The contract on Russian helicopters delivery was signed by Russian company 'Rosoboronexport' and Pentagon in 2011. Despite tensions over the Syrian problem that had arisen between Russia and USA in 2013, the contract was prolonged and successfully accomplished in 2014.
