Moscow, May 21. Russia’s Federal Security Service has recently averted a terrorist attack in Moscow that was masterminded by three militants who underwent military training in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
The operation was carried out in Orekhovo-Zuyevo district. When the security servicemen surrounded a house where suspected militants were hidden, they were offered to surrender, but they opened fire.
During a short exchange of fire two militants were killed and the third was arrested, while a serviceman was slightly injured, Russian media reported quoting the National Anti-terrorist Committee.
According to information from special services, all three suspects are Russian citizens, but they returned from militant camps along the Afghan-Pakistani border where they were trained for carrying out terrorist attacks on the Russian territory.
