The expansion of US military presence in Afghanistan will hardly make the fight against terrorism more effective. This opinion was expressed by the secretary of Russia’s National Security Service Nikolai Patrushev.
“I don’t believe the increase in the contingent in Afghanistan will make the fight against terrorism more effective,” Nikolai Patrushev said. The Secretary of the Security Council emphasized that Moscow was keen on the success in this area. At the same time he insisted on speeding up the training Afghan security forces and equipping them and improving the social and economic situation in the country.
