The representatives of business and expert communities have focused on promoting Russian-Afghan economic cooperation. The stage for such a dialogue is the joint conference of the representatives of Russian-Afghan Business Council, RABC and Centre for Studying Contemporary Afghanistan, CSCA.
Opening the meeting chairman of the Russian-Afghan Business Council, Abubakar Arsamakov emphasized the importance of promoting economic cooperation between Moscow and Kabul. “Russian-Afghan trade and economic cooperation that has strong traditions could become an important mechanism of social and economic reconstruction of post-conflict Afghanistan,” Abubakar Arsamakov said.
Russian and Afghan businessmen, CSCA experts and representatives of the Russian-Afghan Business Council, who attended the meeting, agreed with the chairman of the RABC.
They also discussed promoting trade and economic cooperation between Russia and Afghanistan, mechanism for establishing contacts between the Russian and Afghan business circles.
‘Moreover, they also discussed the possibility of attracting the resources of the Centre for Studying Contemporary Afghanistan to realize information projects of the Russian-Afghan Business Council. In an interview with the Afghanistan.Ru portal an official of the centre said that this could be the involvement of CSCA in covering the activity of the RABC in Afghanistan.
Addressing to the meeting Afghan businessmen put forward concrete proposals aimed at promoting cooperation between Afghanistan and Russia.
